The main difference FERRA L1 from all other radio stations – the ability to communicate through the earth, rock, concrete wall, regardless of wire or other guide linesthat were necessary to the former means of underground communication.
Radio for underground communication FERRA L1 uses miniature antennas of the new generation (point of the ferromagnetic emitters), which allows voice communication at distances up to 100 km above the earth without lifting and installation of fixed antennas, and the most important property FERRA – allows you to transmit the radio signal through the rock over long distances.
It is known that radio waves of low frequency can penetrate through obstacles, but these radio waves require large antenna size of several tens or even hundreds of meters. Such an antenna is inconvenient to carry, so any existing use of ultrashort radio waves, which is enough for a small antenna, but the connection is only possible in line of sight, or with a small obstacle.
In radio FERRA L1 applied the original ultra-compact resonant antenna. The use of such antenna has made available the use of secondary waves, which can penetrate through solid obstacles hundreds of meters. Heart of the antenna is a special ferrite material and this is reflected in the name of the radio station. From the results of tests and measurements it is known that the antenna size of only 50 cm works just like a whip antenna with a length of 6 meters.
