Airborne radar – a radar for unmanned vehicles.

Airborne radar – radar Cognitive Radar Imagine (development of Cognitive Technologies) for vehicles is a 4D radar, which identifies the spatial coordinates and sizes of objects, speed of objects, their type and shape with high precision (to 97.7 %) at ranges of up to 180 meters. Radar operates in all weather (including rain, night), at all speeds, has a compact size and high resolution.

General description:

The onboard radar station (radar) system avionics intended for detection of air, sea and ground targets by means of radar and to determine their range, dimensions and calculate parameters of motion.

Airborne radar – radar Cognitive Radar Imagine:

Airborne radar – radar Cognitive Radar Imagine (development of Cognitive Technologies) is a 4D radar for vehicles, which defines the spatial coordinates, the sizes of the objects, speed of objects, their type and shape with high precision (to 97.7 %) at ranges of up to 180 meters.

Radar operates in all weather (including rain, night), at all speeds, has a compact size and high resolution.

In the Imagine radar Cognitive Radar uses a unique topology of the antenna array. He scans the area in all directions (horizontal and vertical) without the use of any mechanical components, while conventional radars scan space only in one direction – horizontal. It forms a four-dimensional (4D) map of road scenes (the spatial coordinates of the object, the object’s speed) for one cycle of the reception signal. Radar sees as static objects (Les, chisels, etc.) and dynamic objects (cars, pedestrians, etc.) with different speeds, regardless of the angle and direction of movement.

Imagine radar Cognitive Radar operates in the range of 76-81 GHz. The scan angle in azimuth of 90 degrees, height – 15 degrees (the second indicator does not need to increase when travelling on motorways). The accuracy of determining the distance is 10 centimeters. The accuracy of determining the object’s velocity is 0.1 km/hour.

In 4D-implemented radar technology, SAR (Synthetic-aperture radar, in English – a synthetic aperture radar), to using radar and vehicle onboard computer to build a three-dimensional map of the environment – terrain. Such a volume card is required for the autopilot to give you a General understanding of where the car is located, what are the possible selection scenarios of the trajectories. Radar allows you to see in high quality objects that are close to him: the road, the potholes in the road, curbs, etc., to see and detect even domestic animals, to highlight potentially hazardous objects on the road and take them into account when controlling the unmanned vehicle. Conventional radars cannot.
