Traditional silicone is oxygen-containing high-molecular organosilicon compound with the chemical formula [R2SiO]n, where R = organic group (methyl, ethyl or phenyl).

The main disadvantage of silicone materials is their fracture if heated. Temperature limit of conventional silicone materials is of the order of 200 OS. This fact limits its application.

Russian scientists have created a new silicone material – “supercilium” with unique characteristics. He possesses the highest thermostability – 320 OS. In addition, for the production of supersilika used catalysts based on iridium (rather than the traditional catalysts based on platinum).

New silicone material can be used in the aerospace industry.
