Optical cleaner for nanoparticles:

Scientists developed the concept of optical cleaner for nanoparticles, i.e. particles in the size range 1 nm to 100 nm. It is designed for capture and purification of the environment from nanoparticles.

Optic cleaner is a device in the form of microscopic cube, made of dielectric material with nanoscale hole. Under the action of optical radiation, the length of which coincides with the length side of the cube there is a light pressure, a resultant force which is directed into the device, causing the nanoparticles around the cube are drawn into the hole.

Optic cleaner can be used not only for cleaning air and surfaces of nanoparticles during various medical and biological laboratory research, but also for the management of these nanoparticles in space.
