Description:

Nuclear battery based on the tritium – tritium Autonomous source of electric current “that WAY” intended for use as a source of primary power various systems and devices with low energy consumption, especially in those cases where it is necessary to provide them with longer operating time (more than 10 years, the half-life of tritium is 12 years) at extremely low temperatures (up to minus 60 degrees Celsius). At the heart of “that WAY” is the use of tritium and radiation-induced sources of light with a wide range based on high-performance radioluminography.

The figure below presents a prototype of a nuclear battery.

The source of electric current “THAT”, can autonomously and continuously to work in challenging environments, not only at extremely low temperatures, but in high humidity conditions, high and low pressure.

Basic tritium element “THAT” gives the power of 1 µw at a voltage of 1 V. It is presented in the figure below.

Due to the stack-based architecture (parallel and series connection of the basic tritium elements of “that WAY”), and the use of circuits with inverters and drives, electrical energy can increase the power characteristics of the source. You can also change the functionality of the source, changing the form, geometry and material of the unit.

The use of “that WAY” does not require special conditions and licenses for its operation. A source of electrical current so-so safe even in case of violation of the integrity of his body or elements. Of course, it is impossible to prevent ingestion of the main component of the nuclear battery – a source of tritium, but this is an unlikely event.

Advantages:

– long autonomy (more than 10 years),

working in difficult climatic conditions, even at -60 C,

– easy to operate,

does not require special conditions and licenses for its operation,

– high reliability and security,

functionality: it is possible to increase the power characteristics of the source, change the form, geometry and material of the unit.

Application:

Power supply maintenance-free sensors, collection systems and transmission of information, tracking systems, and detection systems of geolocation, specialized RFID and radio beacons.
