Description:

Metamaterials – artificially-created composite materials, formed and specially structured environments with completely unique properties: electromagnetic, electric, radio physical, thermal, optical or acoustic, is not found in nature.

The structure of the metamaterial is changed to the nanoscale changes in shapes, sizes, periods of the lattice atoms and other lattice parameters.

This allows you to create materials and devicesthat affect human imagination: cloaks of invisibility, of superlens, etc.

Scientists have created a great variety of metamaterials: a one-dimensional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional; conductors, dielectrics, semiconductors and superconductors; resonant and non-resonant, etc.

Properties:

– a negative index of refraction,

the impossibility to detect by means of radio

– dielectric permittivity,

magnetic permeability,

– strong dispersion.

Application:

in the creation of smart camouflage clothing for the military,

masking techniques, equipment and civilian objects,

in the radio,

in antennas,

superlense.
