Description:
Installation of gas atomization of melts of metals intended for the production of metal powder materials used in additive technologies. The metal powder used in the technology of selective laser melting must meet certain requirements: the shape of the particles of powder should be spherical, the size distribution of the main fraction of metal powder is normal, from 10 to 50 microns.
Distinctive feature of installation is the use in the design of the spray nozzles supersonic nozzle of Laval. This atomizer allows to obtain metallic powders with a median diameter of d50=25 microns (diameter of 50% of the powder particles does not exceed 25 microns). As a melting unit is used to install an induction furnace with a crucible capacity of 30-60 kg.
Installation of gas atomization of melts of metals allows you to spray and get a fairly wide range of materials: aluminum alloys (AK9, Ak9pch, AK12, etc.), stainless and high-alloy steel (03KH17N14M3, 08KH18N10T, 12H25N16G7AR, etc.), copper alloys.
Properties of powders produced by gas atomization installation:
– primary (50 % or more), the particle size of powder 10 to 50 microns;
– the median diameter is d50=25 µm;
– standard deviation – 2,1-2,2;
– shape of particles – spherical;
– the oxygen content in the powder is not more than 0.1%;
– moisture – not more than 0.05%.
