Description:

A large part of food – meat, bread, cheese, dairy products, etc. – is stored in plastic (polyethylene) packaging. Not only does such packaging creates thousands of tons of non-recyclable, non-biodegradable waste. Packaging plastic and even highlights in food of potentially dangerous chemical compounds. For the solution of global problems scientists have developed edible packaging in the form of a film.

In world practice there are several examples of how to create such packages, but they are conditionally edible. Foreign edible packaging consists not only of natural raw materials, but also from artificial additives. Therefore, the body does not fully digest.

Domestic film, based on fruit or vegetable puree, contains only natural ingredients. In addition, the product has minimal calories, so it can be considered a dietary.

Technology for production of domestic edible packaging is simple enough: mashed potatoes form a mass with a plasticizer and dried the finished seam at a temperature not exceeding 60 degrees. At higher temperatures the film becomes brittle. Already created more than 500 experienced edible samples. They all have high strength and able to compete with the material obtained from cellulose.

The use of such a film can help tackle the problem of waste disposal. The usual polyethylene decompose within 500 years, and edible packaging is the same as conventional apples.

Therefore, if the habit of throwing the container, it with pleasure to “dine” microorganisms, leaving no trace of delicacy.
