Earthquake resistant bridge columns

Earthquake-resistant bridge columns.

Technology is in the process of development!

Earthquake-resistant bridge columns are able to recover to its original position after earthquakes. They consist of individual blocks bonded with steel cables prestressed longitudinal reinforcement.

Earthquake-resistant bridge columns:

Earthquake-resistant bridge columns are capable of recovering to its original position after deformation, e.g. after earthquakes. They consist of separate units, fastened together with steel cables prestressed longitudinal reinforcement, which passed through holes in the blocks.

Merge blocks using steel cables of prestressed longitudinal reinforcement provides flexibility bridge structure and the ability to return to its original position, which deprived the traditional monolithic bridge structure. When the earthquake crack and require extensive and costly repairand sometimes complete replacement.

Earthquake resistant columns, according to scientists, can withstand even a strong earthquake with minimal damage, while retaining their functional characteristics. The repair of these columns is possible without closing the bridge.
